More changes, and summer vacay~

Hey again, everyone! Has summer appeared in your area? It’s finally here for me, and I couldn’t be happier! That means you’ll start to see some pictures of me hiking soon!

In the meantime, one thing you might have heard me working on is my driver’s license. I’ve had my “driver’s permit” for many years. The permit requires that I pass a written test only, so it’s quite easy to get. However, I must have a licensed driver in the car with me (my husband) whenever I drive. I also must post a “Novice Driver” sign in the back window, which is slightly embarrassing. So I wanted to get more independence and freedom in my daily life.

I took my test on May 19th. I didn’t make it, unfortunately…

But the next week, I took another test, and I passed! So now, I finally have my own driver’s license!

In other news, as a new homeowner, I need to look at my house in a different way now. The most visible problem is the front lawn. Up until this year, the landlord has hired a service to take care of the lawn for us. It was nice, but very expensive, so I chose to cancel it. So now, it’s all up to me…

After the snow melted, it revealed a very brown, very unhealthy lawn. I’ve been trying to tend to it, but I think I need to approach it more seriously. I’ll probably need to buy or rent some tools to properly “restore” my lawn, and I’ll probably share pictures of that process over the summer.

I managed to do a very tiny hike with my husband, as well! It was a beautiful day, and the path was very easy. It was nice to practice out on a trail again.

My friend from Boston is visiting us for June, so we went to Elliston once again (I posted about it here originally!) He loves puffins, so we got plenty of pictures.

Those are the biggest pieces of news for me recently. My friend will be here for another month, and we’ll go hiking tomorrow, so I’ll aim to get some good pictures then.
